Idea4Azoty 2030 – the next installment of Grupa Azoty’s acceleration program
Grupa Azoty is launching a refreshed formula of the Idea4Azoty program, the aim of which is to establish cooperation between the Group and entities offering innovative solutions for the industry. The project is aimed at academia, research and start-ups. After qualifying for Idea4Azota, program participants will have the opportunity to develop – together with the representatives of the Group – innovative solutions, ready to be implemented in the company. Applications for the program are accepted until April 15 this year. via idea4azoty.grupaazoty.com. There are four stages of qualification for the program: formal evaluation of applications, merit-based evaluation, interviews with participants, and then a decision on the selection of projects accepted for implementation by a team of experts. Participants who qualify for the program can count on financial, infrastructure, implementation and mentoring support.
– For us, cooperation with start-ups, research and academia is one of the ways to obtain innovative solutions that have a chance to be implemented within the entire Capital Group. The name of the Idea4Azoty 2030 program is not accidental – last year we published the Group’s strategy until 2030, focused on green projects and technologies. I am convinced that as part of the acceleration program, solutions will be created to support our climate and energy transformation and increase the Group’s competitiveness on the fertilizer and chemical market – says Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
In addition to the original Idea4Azoty program, the company also participates in external acceleration programs, such as KPT ScaleUp and Impact Poland. So far, as part of the cooperation with Krakow Technology Park accelerators and FundingBox Accelerator, Grupa Azoty experts have assessed over 600 applications and conducted nearly 140 in-depth interviews. The actions taken resulted in 24 accelerations, in which 9 Grupa Azoty Group companies were involved in the implementation. At the moment, the actions taken have resulted in 4 commercial implementations, completed with 4 signed cooperation agreements for the coming years.

Organizational support for the Idea4Azoty Program as well as infrastructure and advisory facilities for participants are provided by the Research and Development Center of Grupa Azoty S.A. Program participants may also be consortia consisting of two or more entities.
The Grupa Azoty Group is the undisputed leader of the domestic fertilizer market and one of the key capital groups in the fertilizer and chemical industry in Europe. It ranks second in the European Union in the production of nitrogen and compound fertilizers, it also has a strong position in the markets of such products as melamine, polyamide, OXO alcohols, plasticizers and titanium white. Investments are an important pillar of Grupa Azoty’s strategy, and the largest project is Polimery Police, implemented by Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, a special purpose vehicle. It is one of the largest investments in the Polish and European chemical industry, which will enable the diversification of Grupa Azoty’s business activities, and will positively affect Poland’s position in the plastics segment and strengthen the country’s raw material independence.
In 2021, Grupa Azoty published its strategy until 2030, which is a plan of specific actions driven by the Group’s climate and energy transformation. The announced strategy is the Group’s response to the requirements of the European climate policy. Detailed projects in the field of, among others industrial green energy, emission reductions and decarbonisation are described in the key project “Green Azoty”.
